About Cardiff Airport

Cardiff airport is a very successful regional airport, with nearly two million passengers in 2008.

The Welsh name is Maes Awy Caedydd.

Originally a RAF base, the airport has significantly increased in popularity over the last fifteen years as a result of a large investment plan implemented in the 1990's. There are plans to incease capacity to over five million passengers in the coming decade. The interior of the terminal building is being revampt and improved in time for summer 2010.

Cardiff Airport also has an attractive airport lounge, suitable for business and leisure travellers. A great way to unwind before your flight.

The airport has a mixture of scheduled and charter flights to nearly 40 destinations.

KLM has a major presence at the airport, providing services to Amsterdam, with onward connections to European and worldwide destinations. Other airlines with services at Cardiff Airport include FlyBe, bmibaby,Thomas Cook airways and Thomson Airways.
